Where is the Start and finish?

Camping available direct through BL500, from 9th Sep to 14th Sep. Please contact us to arrange this. 

How can we get to the start/finish?

Nearest Train stations: 

Gobowen station. 

Shrewsbury Station.

Car parking will be available, The field is grassed and hard standing boards will be out!! Hopefully no mud in site!! 

Can a bag be left at the venue?

A bag drop system will be in place so you can leave clothing and luxuries for the end. Bike boxes can also be left with prior arrangement.

Can we ride with others? 

YES! We won’t be implementing any rule regarding drafting or riding as a group. As long as no highway code rules are broken and you are respectful to other road users, you can ride in groups.

Are the checkpoints food stops?

No the checkpoints will be for getting your brevet card stamped and will only be open during normal working hours. If you arrive at a checkpoint after opening hours you will be required to stamp your own brevet card outside the shop!

The checkpoint on the coast will be open from midday on 12th September and will be closed at 11:00H on the 13th. This is a village hall and has kitchen facilities for you to use. Basics will be provided i.e bread, milk, tea & coffee, beans that sort of thing (We just ask that you clean your own cups/plates)

What date can we start?

Earliest start date: 08:00 10th September. 

Finish by 16:00 13th September

Camping is available from 16:00 9th September to 11am 14th September

Is the event on main roads?

The routes will be on public highways, all routes will be ridden prior to the event. All routes will be designed for road bikes/tyres.

What is unsupported?

This is an unsupported event. This means you will be set off from the start and complete your chosen route using your own power. No help from friends or family following in a camper van is allowed. 
You can use any publicly available accommodation or shops.
You cannot rely on any help that isn’t available to all riders.

Start & Finish

Earliest start date is 10th September 2025

Finish: 13th September 2025 16:00H 

Event will be finished and clear up operation on the 14th September. 

Is this a race?

The Borderland500 isn’t classed as a race. We want this event to be a social adventure. 
We will publish results at a later date once all trackers are back and we have had time to share all of your tales!
